ORDER THIS TITLE
In this traditional retelling of Dickens’s classic story, Peterson has conscientiously endeavored to maintain the original flavor of the work, letting the story be told by the dialogue and staging except for a very brief narrator’s introduction and closing. Accordingly, the story has a sharper focus on character than other adaptations. With only one set needed (with the help of special lighting effects) and three traditional carols that may be sung by a chorus, this version requires less rehearsal time. Just like the staging can be as grandiose or as simple as desired, directors can give stage time to many actors, or the large cast may be cut to as few as 16 players with extensive doubling.
