Your young audiences will love the audience participation, simple song, and quality storytelling packed with messages about community, empathy, and responsibility in this delightful TYA adaptation.  Recently toured by Walnut Street Theatre (the nation’s oldest theatre!), this show has already been very positively received by thousands of children.  The song can be sung by each character a cappella or with ukulele accompaniment with the link to the tracks provided in the script.

Toad is so obsessed with his motorcar that he pays no mind to Rat, Mole, and Badger, who are busy celebrating the first days of spring by tidying up.  Soon, their efforts are dashed by Toad’s reckless behavior and even more reckless driving!  But while Toad is sent to jail in the original story, this TYA version sees the troubled antagonist confined to his bedroom.  Unfortunately, Toad is not remorseful and spends his time thinking up clever ways to fool his friends.  It’s not until Toad escapes, leads the other animals on one last chase, and crashes his car again that Toad takes responsibility for his actions and helps others clean up the mess he made.
