Some of Pioneer’s favorite playwrights have quickly jumped on this new bandwagon to bring you this compilation of four 5- to 10-minute, lighthearted plays written specifically to be performed virtually through Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, or any other digital video call or conferencing apps.

This is not a series of monologues.  It’s actual stand-alone scenes!  Our playwrights — Brian D. Taylor, Craig Sodaro, Edith Weiss, and husband-and-wife writing team Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus — got creative and had fun writing short plays where the characters are separated and talking via a digital platform or conferencing app.  These skits, each with two to four characters, have no set requirements and very easy costuming that actors can come up with at home.

Rocketman has a fearless spacecraft captain of the future looking to rendezvous on Mars with a digital assistant for a quick refueling as she makes her way from Jupiter back to Earth.  But after decades of reliable robot assistance, 537R is lonely out in space, and seems under the influence of an old song from some earthling named Elton John...

Spies ‘R’ Us features four undercover agents video conferencing from remote locations as they try to put a stop to an evil plan.  Can they pull it together long enough to protect the planet and all its inhabitants, or will this virtual meeting be mankind’s undoing?

And who needs breaking news when you have Today’s News Tonight?  When a rag-tag team of newscasters tries to put a new perspective on field, weather, and sports reporting, it’s pure tongue-tied fun.  Your royalty-free skit even includes newscast graphics to spice up your production!
