Here’s a fast-paced, character-driven, hilarious one-act that is a blast for audiences, directors, and student actors alike, Tutor Trouble! provides a fun, accessible gateway for students to explore colorful, vibrant characters through a series of crazy duet scenes packed with physical humor.
Besties Emmitt and Violet need to earn their Outreach Education badge for Good Scouts, so they volunteer to tutor at a nearby middle school. But it doesn’t take long for the tutors to learn their own lesson. Turns out that extra help equals extra chaos! Tutored student Meredith has particular learning needs involving a puppet. Future attorney Jessica is full of misplaced confidence. Jamie is a student seriously dedicated... to pranks, that is. And Sam’s snack habits are just downright offensive to all the senses! Jett’s more interested in working out than homework. Meanwhile, Lucy has trust issues that make her school lessons a conspiracy-riddled afterthought.
Budget-friendly with a small cast and simple sets and costuming, this series of duet scenes teaches your actors how to develop fun, outlandish characters while everyone learns a lesson in hilarity!
