“In the darkest days of Comedyville, a team of superheroes emerged who pledged to fight for truth, justice, and the hilarious way of life.  This is the story of these mighty warriors...” Everything in Comedyville was a laugh-riot until Vlad the Exhaler unleashed his dastardly plan to rid the town of its sense of humor.  Now that he and his humorless henchman — including a disgruntled Vaudevillian turned secret enemy spy — have doused the town with anti-laughing spray, the citizens of Comedyville find themselves buying trench coats from Vlad’s factory, reading existential philosophy and brooding about the emptiness of life.  The familiar “rimshot” after each punch line falls silent, and the slapstick folks fall and hurt themselves instead of springing up to the sound of laughter.  Just when the city council votes to change the town’s name to Seriousburg, the Supercomics — Sergeant Pratfall, Captain Stand-up, Colonel Pratfall and The Cornballer — leap into action to incapacitate the evil genius with jokes so bad they’re funny and bring hilarity back to the streets of Comedyville!  “Funnier than a rubber chicken, able to fall down an entire staircase with a tray of chocolate pudding, it’s the Marx Brothers, it’s Abbot and Costello, it’s...  it’s...  the Supercomics!
