Actors will have a chance to really ham it up in this “pig-centric” play-within-a-play spoof of “The Three Little Pigs,” Bavarian-style.
The Porcine Playhouse is in trouble. The cast and crew haven’t been paid, rent is overdue, and they can’t even afford proper sets! If the playhouse’s production of “The Three Little Pigs” doesn’t make a pile of money, the playhouse is doomed! (Or “Oom-dayed!” as Pig Latin Professor Hamilton Hamdinner would say.)
The valiant little theater troupe strives mightily to mount the perfect production, but everything that can go wrong does, from shoddy set design to stagehands taking too many mandatory union breaks to a new Big Bad Wolf understudy who hasn’t had time to learn his lines. (In fairness, the script gets rewritten in the middle anyhow!) With lots of Bavarian-style pretzels and root beer humor and piggie puns, this versatile, hammy comedy is perfect for actors and audiences of any age.
