There’s a crime wave in the city of Petropolis, and the newsroom of the Daily Asteroid is buzzing with excitement.  Kiley Lindstrom has been assigned to cover the mystery, but before he makes a stunning discovery, he is murdered.  To make matters worse, the Asteroid staff is being terrorized, and the citizens of Petropolis are in an uproar.  Is there anyone out there who can restore truth and justice?  Meanwhile, Lois Drane, society editor, wants to enter the male-dominated arena of street reporting and cover a ’real’ story.  Fellow reporter, the dashing Clark Brent, is drawn to Lois, however, she’s not impressed.  He’s just too strong and powerful for her and would stand a better chance if he had a little ’nerd’ in him.  Is there any way for Clark to win her affections?!  Suddenly, ’Nerdman’ is born, and both quandaries are solved!  Through Nerdman’s efforts the intense villainy overpowering Petropolis is defeated.  A host of other colorful characters are introduced including Sudie, the leathery cleaning lady; Professor Hegglestopper, the inventor of the first x-ray glasses; and, of course, Timmy Wholesum, our hardy Script boy and provider of exotic coffees to the newspaper staff.
