This dynamite book is bursting with monologues as funny, touching, complex and unique as elementary and middle school kids themselves! The characters in this book were created specifically to showcase the talent and personality of the young actors performing them. The book itself is extremely kid-friendly in a comfortable, easy-to-use size. The monologues are one minute and under-perfect for a young child’s memorization capabilities and most audition situations. The book is divided into girls’ monologues, boys’ monologues and gender neutral monologues. These sections are then subdivided into comic and dramatic categories for easy searching. The pieces are designed for kids aged 4 to 12. However, since children mature and develop at their own pace, the characters’ ages are not indicated. Still, for your convenience, each section is arranged from youngest to oldest. To enhance the performance level and ensure a real sense of the character, a brief description of the situation precedes each monologue and quickly sets the scene.
