When Daniel makes a surprise visit home from college during spring break, his father Charles announces plans to hand over the company. But Daniel, who wants to see the world and expand his horizons, swiftly refuses, despite Charles’s insistence. But was Daniel’s visit really a surprise? Whose idea was it? After all, Charles has biscuits and two coffee cups waiting when Daniel arrives. Likewise, could Daniel’s girlfriend be just another puppet for Charles to manipulate? This play takes your audience on an insightful journey as they realize that Charles’s methodical planning is not just about control of the biscuit company, but of his son’s entire life.
Easy to stage and with a surprise ending, this show is a perfect contest or touring piece and would be a great addition to a night of one acts.
While not specifically written for virtual theatre, this play adapts easily for online performances with only minor adjustments necessary.
