Tim Kelly does a stellar job adapting this classic by H.G.  Wells, capturing the fascination and drama of a young inventor’s travels to the far distant future.  With interesting, creative staging and ample female roles, this version will quickly become one of your favorite dramatic performances.  Young Filby, the inventor, invites some scientists to his home to hear about his latest invention, a machine that travels through time.  When the guests return a week later, Filby relays to them the story of his travel into the future, from which he has just returned.  Accompanied by his cook, Mrs. Watchett, they tell of meeting the Eloi, a strange race of young people, and the Morlock, a brutal race that lives beneath the earth’s surface.  When the Morlocks steal the Time Machine, Mrs. Watchett and Filby must enter the dark tunnels underground to get it back.  They are lucky to escape with their lives, yet are met with nothing but skepticism and mockery when they return to the late 1800s.  As Mrs. Watchett defends the retelling of their adventures as factual, Filby climbs into the Time Machine and disappears once again.
