A raucous, campy fracturing of the classic fairy tale, this delightful storyteller version sets a spun gold standard for the adaptation of old favorites.  Pity poor, sweet Lilie.  Living in hunger in medieval Germany, she survives with her pappa on rock soup and dirt delicacies.  Her pappa, too, seems a bit absent-minded at times, especially when he persists in bumping into the queen, getting star struck and wildly claiming his daughter can perform all sorts of impossible tasks.  Once installed in the castle to supposedly bake pies into diamonds and sweep dust into silk, Lilie meets the irascible Rumpelstiltskin.  A crooked, rude, overgrown infant of a fellow with a traumatic past that we see at the beginning of the show, Rumpelstiltskin is busying himself with pilfering food and vandalizing the queen’s castle.  He seeks revenge on the queen, who, once upon a time in one of her many moods, sent Rumpelstiltskin into banishment.  He reluctantly agrees to use his magic powers to help Lilie, but when the final task of spinning straw into gold arrives, their budding friendship is put to the test by Rumpelstiltskin’s greediness, Lilie’s innocent simple-mindedness and a show-stopping name-guessing game.  Sure to have your audiences giggling with delight, the hip, kooky and outlandish Rumpelstiltskin Revisited is a riot for all ages!
