This play is an excellent exploration of where teasing and bullying can lead if allowed to continue unabated. When the cheerleading squad at performs a cheer that ridicules a fellow student in front of the entire school, both the principal and cheerleading advisor are outraged. Samantha, Pat, and the other cheerleaders are put on probation, and they promise to do their best to stop students from making fun of Billy Jackson, an above average student plagued by emotional, physical, and social hardships. Despite efforts from Samantha, who never knew the hurtful cheer was purposefully aimed at Billy, another cheerleader and her friends continue to pick on Billy. The problem reaches its height at a football game in which Billy snaps under the pressure. Two different endings let you choose between a tragedy no one will ever forget or a narrowly averted tragedy. Whichever you choose, this play offers an outstanding opportunity to start or add to an important conversation at your school.
