A very funny adaptation of one of the theatre’s minor classics... Anton Chekov’s short comic play, A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL. Lem, an excitable young rancher, riddled with imaginary ailments, decides it’s time to marry and journeys to the next spread to propose to the spirited and stubborn Natalie. The mother, a widow lady, is delighted. But she neglects to tell her daughter the reason for their neighbor’s visit. Lem and his intended get into a furious (and uproarious) argument over who owns a small meadow. Lem is booted out. When Natalie discovers he wanted to marry her, she sends her mother to fetch him back.

Get It Now! allows you to immediately download PDFs of the script, director’s book, and music scores for our shows. Production/rehearsal CDs sets are also available for immediate download. You will not receive physical versions of anything you select for Get It Now! delivery. This option requires the purchase of a sufficient number of scripts (distribution rights) for your entire cast and pre-payment of your entire order, including royalties.
