It might be set in 1917, but everything else about this melodrama is as traditional as apple pie. Eva, the owner of the Freedom Grove orchard, and her fair niece Didi are up to their ears in apples with no way to transport them to buyers. Of course, the mortgage check is due today at the new Berliner Bank, run by Rod Tennappel, who may be the rottenest apple to ever cross the pond. With his bombshell assistant, Golden D. Lishus, and the German spy, Otto von Helium Gaspar Gemp’p, our villain schemes to take over the orchard so he can turn it into a dirigible factory for the Kaiser. Thank goodness for the daring and heroic neighbor, Liberty, whose passion for flying takes him to new heights. He helps the ladies win the war at home and wins the heart of our heroine along the way.
