The young and beautiful Princess Patience Virtue is about to come of age and ascend the throne as queen. But there’s a catch. According to law, she must marry in order to take the throne, and the man she marries must be a king. Alas! If she cannot find a king to marry, the vile and nasty Count Backward from Ten becomes king!
Almost all the eligible kings in the land turn out to be not-so-eligible, so the fair princess’s only hope is King Marshall Law, who is expected any time. But with the count and his equally evil cohorts sabotaging Patience’s attractiveness and the king’s decision to disguise himself as his jester, Hugh Morris, does true love even stand a chance to triumph over evil?
Filled with all sorts of hilarious mix-ups, this delightfully fresh take on an old genre premiered at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
