A How-To Guide to Virtual Theatre

Virtual theatre.  Born out of necessity in the midst of this pandemic, virtual theatre is a new and exciting art form that is just beginning to evolve and reveal its potential.  Just a short time ago, no one would have conceived of trying to perform a scene, let alone an entire play, with every actor isolated in their own home.  And yet, it’s happening...  with surprisingly positive results.

But there’s still so much to figure out!  For every solution found, it seems two more questions arise.  To help you, Pioneer is proud to offer you a complimentary copy of A How-To Guide for Virtual Theatre.  While we can’t claim to have addressed every issue, we hope you’ll agree that this comprehensive handbook will be an incredible resource so your virtual production can be a big hit!

Believe it or not, even once social distancing rules relax and your cast can perform in an auditorium again, we have a hunch there will still be aspects of virtual theatre that you’ll want to hold onto, such as livestreaming your show to reach a larger-than-ever audience.  So you might as well dive in and start to learn this new style of theatre!

To get your feet wet, we have the perfect short one-acts for you to try!  Both Virtual Complaint Department and Lemonade and Fortunes Read — Virtually $1 are specifically written to rehearse and perform remotely with all your actors in separate locations!  They require very little costuming and have only a few people “on screen” at any time to keep things simple.  Better yet, we’re offering each one at a package price of just $99.99, which includes one performance along with all the scripts for the cast (electronic, of course!), and a director’s book for you.

We hope you enjoy reading our free how-to guide and find it helpful.  As we break ground together to discover the possibilities in virtual theatre, we hope you share what you learn with us and with each other!  Break a leg!
