Two Versions of a New Virtual Play!

As we all learn to adapt to virtual theatre, it’s easy to feel locked into technology.  At a time when theatre should be a great escape, we find ourselves tethered time and again to a screen, right?  Well, ditch those cell phones and laptops and come with us to a land long ago and far away where everyone communicates via magic mirrors!

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall, A Virtual Fractured Fairy Tale was cleverly written specifically for the virtual theatre stage without relying on predictable device and technology tropes.  Instead, this 55-minute play, and the shorter, smaller-cast Mirror, Mirror, hark back to a fairytale world and a familiar storybook character, the Magic Mirror.

Of course it all begins with the Evil Queen, who wishes to be the fairest of them all.  But as much as it pains her to hear, Magic Mirror reluctantly reveals the truth:  not only is Snow White the fairest of them all, but she’s also run away and can’t be found.

That’s when the queen summons great magic to help her in the search for Snow White, transforming Magic Mirror into a portal through which she can see the entire kingdom!  The magic also allows everyone else’s mirrors to show them what they most wish to see.

Best-selling playwright Brian D. Taylor, author of Pioneer favorites The Princess Who Had No Name, Princess Who, and Princess Whatsername, creates storytelling magic in this fractured fairy tale featuring Rapunzel and Prince Dashing, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Fairy Godmother, and so many more!

Best of all, there are two versions of this fun fractured fairy tale so it can fit most any group.  Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall has room for up to 29 players, but don’t worry!  There are never more than three or four cameras on at any one time to minimize technology glitches.  And everyone gets their moment to shine!

Love the concept but want to keep it as short and simple as possible?  Then you’ll be thrilled with Mirror, Mirror, which is just 40 minutes with a cast as small as 12 with doubling.  And again, the largest scene only has four characters, with all other scenes being even smaller.

Like our other virtual plays, your scripts and director’s book are delivered electronically so you can easily distribute the scripts to your cast members.

And make sure you check out all the tips in our FREE How-To Guide for Virtual Theatre.  As one teacher exclaimed, “If I knew virtual theatre was this much fun, I would have been doing it all along!”
