Electronic Production Scripts Are Here!

Many of you have discovered the wonderful convenience that our E-view subSCRIPTion™ Program offers.  Imagine, instant access to every script we carry, just a mouse click away!  Yet, as great as this program is, it’s only for previewing scripts on your computer or tablet.

Now Pioneer has a way for you to get electronic scripts for your production as well!  You can purchase one printable pdf file of the script along with photocopy/distribution rights for the entire cast and crew, and your material cost stays the same.  We are keeping the price of a script consistent whether it’s a paper version, an emailed pdf or a purchased distribution right.  So if you need 20 scripts and they cost $6 each, you now have a choice.  Your $120 can purchase paper scripts, or it can pay for us to email you a pdf of the script with distribution rights to make 20 copies.

Why do we call them “distribution rights” and not photocopy rights?  We want to give you the broadest permission possible to use the script as best meets your needs.

• Print out the script and make photocopies.
• Email the script to your cast and crew and have them each print their own script.
• Email the script to your cast and crew and have them download it to their tablet or e-reader.
• Distribute the script to your cast and crew via Dropbox, Google Docs or other file-sharing site.

Of course, with any of the options above, copyright laws still apply since they cover photocopying or reproducing the script in any manner.  The number of scripts you make or distribute in any format is determined by the number of distribution rights you purchase.  If you find you need additional scripts once you’re in rehearsal, simply notify us that you need to purchase additional distribution rights to make more copies.

Getting an electronic script can also save you on shipping, especially if you are in a hurry and would otherwise need to pay rush shipping.  While it’s not instantaneous like the E-views, you will receive the emailed script by the end of the next business day.  You will only pay shipping charges on any additional materials you order, such as music parts and director’s books.  For international customers, the savings is especially significant when you consider customs and brokerage fees.

So what’s the fine print you need to know?

• A $6 electronic delivery and processing fee is added to each order.
• Only scripts can be emailed.  Director’s books and all music parts must be shipped at regular cost.
• We will only email you a printable script when you place a complete production order, including arranging for royalties.
• Emails are sent at the end of the business day on which your order is processed.  To receive your emailed script the same business day, we need to have your order before 1:00 pm Eastern Time.  Otherwise, your email will be sent the afternoon of the next business day.
• There are no returns or refunds on emailed scripts or distribution rights, so please make sure you’ve previewed the entire script before placing your production order.
