Pioneer Drama is bigger and better than ever!
Ah, September! Time for that classic question, “What did you do during summer vacation?” This summer sure was busy for us at Pioneer Drama Service, but it was hardly a vacation! We are proud to announce that this summer we purchased both Contemporary Drama and the textbook company Meriwether Publishing.
What does this mean to you? We’re bigger and better than ever, with hundreds of new products to offer you!
More Plays and Musicals: We’ve acquired so many new, wonderful plays and musicals that we’ve only just begun to get them on our website and into our catalog. We have all sorts of new shows now from your favorite playwrights such as Tim Kelly and Craig Sodaro, and we are delighted to bring you works from dozens of playwrights new to Pioneer Drama Service as well! Many of these shows are written specifically for community theatres as well as schools, significantly expanding our selection. Check our website regularly as we are now constantly adding new one acts, full length plays and musicals.
More Textbooks: We’ve always been proud to offer you many fine textbooks from a variety of companies including Meriwether Publishing, and now we have more than ever. We are thrilled to add an entire section of speech and forensic books to our catalog of text resources. In addition, you can find sequels to many of your perennial favorites, such as Drama Teacher’s Survival Guide #2 and Improv Ideas 2. We are also now the proud publisher of the seminal text for long-form improv, Truth in Comedy, and its sequel, Art by Committee, which also has an accompanying DVD that includes interviews with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler from back in their days with the Upright Citizens Brigade.
Royalty Free Skits: This PDF collection of royalty-free skits and monologues adds amazing versatility to your drama program. Besides being royalty free, you receive unlimited photocopying rights with the purchase of any PDF. Each PDF has multiple skits or monologues as specified in the description and are ideal for classroom exercises, warmups, contests or auditions. They’re also perfect for performance in front of an audience, whether it’s at a talent show or during intermission at your main production.
