E-view is our shortcut way of saying electronic preview script. It’s the fastest and easiest way to preview scripts for your next production, whether you want to read just one or an assortment of titles. For whatever title you choose, the E-view is a PDF of the entire script from the title page to the very last production note. It cannot be printed, copied or altered in any way. You can save it to your computer or keep it in your online library, which you access through the Pioneer Drama website.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PURCHASING ELECTRONIC PREVIEW SCRIPTS OVER PAPER SCRIPTS?
Our customers love the instant access of having a script just a mouse click away! It’s literally possible to be reading an entire script just two minutes after finding it on our website. Besides saving time, E-views are cheaper than regular paper scripts because you don’t have to pay shipping or handling fees. This can be especially important for our international customers, who face higher postage fees plus possible brokerage, duties, and taxes.
HOW DOES THE E-VIEW PROGRAM WORK?
Our E-view program works like a gift card loaded with prepaid electronic script credits. Each credit equals one electronic download. You decide how many script credits you want to pay for in advance, then those credits stay on your account until you use them. WHEN DO MY CREDITS EXPIRE?
Your credits never expire, so if you preview scripts from Pioneer regularly, it makes sense to buy a larger number at once to maximize your savings per script and then use them to choose shows for the next several seasons.
CAN I PURCHASE 25 CREDITS AND USE THEM FOR MY CAST SET OF SCRIPTS?
No, E-views are for previewing scripts only. It is not physically possible to download the same title more than once to your E-view library, and once it is in your library, it cannot be printed or photocopied. We have other E-Script and download options available for production orders. Click here to learn more about them.
ONCE I PURCHASE AN E-VIEW, HOW DO I GET TO IT?
Your scripts are stored in your personal online library that you access through the Pioneer website. Simply log on to your account with the same email address and password you used to first purchase the E-view. Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a link that reads, “My E-view Library” in the upper right corner. Click on this to access all of your purchased E-views. With multiple titles in your library, you can arrange them alphabetically, by cast size, by running time, or by purchase date. There’s even room to write and save your own notes about each script.
WHY DON’T YOU SEND THE ELECTRONIC SCRIPTS BY EMAIL LIKE OTHER COMPANIES DO?
Our customers never have to worry about losing a script or deleting an email that has a script attached because we store your E-views for you in your personal Pioneer library. You’ll also never have to worry about your firewall or spam filter preventing you from receiving a script, which is another common problem with emailed electronic scripts.
CAN I PRINT OR COPY MY ELECTRONIC PREVIEW SCRIPT?
No, the script cannot be printed, copied or altered in any way. It is exclusively for reading on your computer or tablet.
IF I CAN’T PRINT IT OUT, HOW CAN I SHARE THE SCRIPT WITH MY TEAMMATE WHO’S HELPING ME CHOOSE A PLAY OR WITH MY PRINCIPAL, WHO NEEDS TO APPROVE MY SELECTION?
First, save the E-view as a PDF file on your computer. Like the original E-view, the PDF copy cannot be copied, printed, or altered, but it can be emailed! Email your colleague and send the PDF as an attachment. That way, your teammate or principal can also read the entire script on his or her computer or tablet.
ONCE I’VE PURCHASED AN ELECTRONIC PREVIEW SCRIPT, WILL IT ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE?
Yes. E-views never expire like they do with some other companies. It will permanently be stored in your Pioneer library, so even if the script doesn’t work for you this year, it will be available for you in future years.
DO I HAVE TO BE ONLINE TO ACCESS MY ELECTRONIC PREVIEW SCRIPTS?
No, as long as you’ve already saved the script to your computer or a flash drive. The first time you access the script, you need to be online to log in to your personal library via the Pioneer website. Once you’ve opened your E-view, feel free to save it as a PDF file to your computer hard drive. You can even set up your own Pioneer folder on your desktop! As long as you have saved your E-views to either your hard drive or a flash drive, you can access them anytime, anywhere, even without internet access!
I CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT E-VIEWS. HOW CAN I GET A REFUND?
Sorry, but you can’t. Because there is no way to return something that has been delivered to you electronically, there is no way to get a refund. To be safe, if you are unsure if you will like E-views, we suggest you start with just one electronic preview script. Once you are certain that E-views are helpful to you, you can purchase a larger quantity of credits.
I’D LIKE TO USE A SCHOOL PURCHASE ORDER TO SET UP MY E-VIEW ACCOUNT. HOW DO I DO THAT?
We only accept purchase orders for the largest package, $100 for 25 script credits. Sorry, but purchase orders or other “bill me later” options are not available for any other E-view package, and prepayment by credit card is required for those. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express for your convenience.
HOW CAN I ADD MORE CREDITS?
If you have used up your prepaid credits for electronic scripts and wish to add more, first log in to our E-view program. From our home page, click on the orange ELECTRONIC SCRIPTS button, then select “Click Here to Create Your E-view Account.” Since you’re already logged in to your account, this will take you directly to a page where you can enter your payment information to purchase more credits. Alternatively, when you are on the ordering page for a particular script and click on ELECTRONIC PREVIEW COPY, the shopping cart will detour to a page where you can add more credits if you are out of them.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY CREDITS I HAVE REMAINING?
You can always see the number of script credits you have remaining by going to your E-view library. At the top right is a message showing the quantity of unused credits available.
CAN I PURCHASE THE SAME TITLE MULTIPLE TIMES?
No. Because E-views are simply for reading on your computer or tablet, there is no reason to have multiple copies of the exact same file. Luckily, our website will not allow you to purchase an E-view if you already have the identical title in your personal library. If you click on ELECTRONIC PREVIEW COPY from the shopping cart and nothing happens, it’s because you already have an E-view of that script in your library.

When you place a production order, in lieu of traditional paper scripts, you may choose to receive an email with an attached pdf of your script. The purchase of distribution rights to match the number of scripts you need is required.

HOW MUCH DOES AN E-SCRIPT COST?
The price for an E-Script is the same as the price of a regular paper script. You are also required to purchase distribution rights at the same price for the number of scripts you need. For example, if you need 20 scripts and the paper scripts cost $6 each, then it would also cost you $120 to get an E-Script plus the distribution rights to make 20 copies.
WHAT EXACTLY ARE “DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS”?
We used to call these photocopy rights, but there are several other ways to reproduce or distribute a script besides just photocopying it. We use the broader term “distribution rights” to cover all ways you might reproduce the script to distribute to others. These ways include, but are not limited to, emailing the pdf to others; printing multiple copies of the script from your own computer; asking individuals to each print their own script; downloading the script to other computers, tablets, or electronic readers; or posting a link to the script on a website or on a service such as Dropbox.
Since federal and international copyright laws prohibit reproducing a script without permission, it is imperative to first purchase distribution rights to gain permission to distribute the script in any way.

IS THERE A FEE FOR E-SCRIPT DELIVERY?
We charge a $6.00 electronic delivery fee per order to cover our cost of processing your order and sending you the email. If you have other material, such as music or a director’s book, being shipped to you in addition to receiving the emailed script, we will charge you both the $6.00 electronic delivery fee and the standard shipping fee based on the value of the items being shipped.
DO I GET THE E-SCRIPT IMMEDIATELY?
No. We process your production order regularly, and you receive the email within one business day. Orders received by 2:00 pm Eastern Time are processed the same day; orders received after that are processed the next business day.
CAN I GET A PRINTABLE E-SCRIPT FOR PREVIEWING?
No, this option is only for complete production orders. To preview a script digitally, please take advantage of our E-view program.
IF IT COSTS THE SAME FOR THE SCRIPTS, WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF GETTING ELECTRONIC DELIVERY?
Even though it won’t save you money on your scripts, it can save you money on shipping, especially if you were going to expedite your shipping. Because you will always have your E-Script in just one business day, you can have scripts distributed to your cast quicker without paying expensive rush fees for shipping.

WHAT IF I WANT THE MUSIC TRACKS ELECTRONICALLY BUT ALL OTHER PARTS MAILED?
Yes, you can do this. Place your production order normally, indicating the total quantity you’ll need for each part. Then, in the delivery options, select either Get It Now! or E-delivery. Once you’ve selected one of these delivery options, you will see a list of each part available electronically. You can de-select all the parts except music tracks so that only the tracks will be emailed to you while all other parts will be mailed traditionally.

Our standard procedure is to email only a pdf of the script which cannot be altered. If you wish to make changes to the script, please contact us directly as these requests are handled on a case-by-case basis.
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY PRODUCTION? ARE DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS RETURNABLE?
Royalties will be refunded if the show is not performed. However, once the email is sent, there are no returns, exchanges, or refunds on the E-Script or distribution rights.

Get It Now! gives you immediate access to a printable download of any script for production purposes. It requires prepayment, including royalties, and requires that you purchase the distribution rights for the number of scripts you need for your entire cast and crew. Other items, such as scores, director’s books, and music CDs are also available for immediate download.

Yes, this flexibility is one of the best aspects of our Get It Now! program. When you select your delivery option, you literally check off which parts you want electronically and which you wish to have shipped to you. Many of our customers use this feature to get their director’s book right away but not have the hassle of needing to make scripts for all their actors. Conversely, other customers have each actor print their own script but love to get our director’s book already spiral bound. There’s any number of options available to you as long as your entire order is prepaid.

Yes, this is the great advantage of using the Get It Now! option. The order confirmation page will include a link to your personal download page. You’ll also receive this link by email. The links on your personal download page will expire after 30 days.

The links we send you are good for one month. Of course, as soon as you open a link once and save the pdf to your computer, you will have permanent access to it.
