I've been making up stories ever since I can remember, mostly for my own entertainment. When I was ten, my teacher took an interest in my stories and encouraged me to write them down to share with others. Creative writing was my favourite subject, along with art and music, I must admit. When I got older, as most young girls do, I started babysitting and my stories became entertainment for the children in my care. I would make up fables featuring the kids as characters. On rainy days, we would sit around the table and they would draw pictures for their story. I put the pictures together with my story in a laminated book version. I still have many of these books. One summer I joined the local amateur theatre group and offered one of my children's stories for their use as a summer play. The play turned out so well that they all encouraged me to send it to a publisher. And so, here we are. Now my stories are for my nieces and nephews and many other children as well. I hope they all enjoy them, whether performing on stage or sitting in the audience watching the story unfold.
