Tracy Poverstein is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where she studied acting with William Esper and received her BFA degree. After acting in New York, she went on to get her Masters in Science from Pepperdine University.
Tracy was the Art Department Chair at the Archer School for Girls for thirteen years and is currently the Artistic Director at Archer, where she teaches acting, playwriting and directs theatrical productions. Tracy was awarded the 2014 National Youth Arts Directing award. In 2017, she received the National Youth Arts Award for Outstanding New Work and Best Ensemble for her play Camp Stowaways.
Tracy had two of her plays produced by Pacific Resident Theatre in 2013: Happy Birthday Nancy Kwan and Po’ Dunk Nowhere.
In addition to writing for the stage, Tracy has also been a co-writer on the web series Venice (produced by Lynn Milano), as well as a broad-comedy screenplay titled The High Cost Of Parenting.
