Bob Lehan's very first script, The Procedure was produced on Cape Cod in 1962, at the now vanished Provincetown Playhouse.
He holds both a BFA and an MFA in Directing from Boston University and is a long time member of both SSDC and DG, the directors' and playwrights' guilds.
He is the author of five plays published by Pioneer Drama Service: The Waiting Room, a winner of the John Gassner Memorial Award, Lifeguards, winner of PDS' Best One-Act Play Award — also published in Dramatics Magazine, Lovesong, another Gassner Award play and winner of a Ford Foundation New Scripts Award, Three Fables and A Bagful of Fables (available July 2007), two Aesop collections which actors of all ages may play to kids.
Including the above, Lehan has written a baker's dozen plays, most of which have won some prize or other, but the fact remains that he has not created a large body of work. So in order to remedy that, Bob retired in 1998, after 32 years of teaching (and doing) college theatre and has settled into serious daily playwriting.
Bob loves to chat with theaterfolk who have worked, or are working on his plays, so drop him some email.
