Rob LaVohn grew up in small towns in Texas, then graduated from Rice University in Houston, TX with a BA in English and Sociology. His experiences in drama in high school and college remained fond memories for him, and when he became a teacher in Miami, FL, he founded a drama club at Westwood Christian School. To curtail expenses, he began writing plays and skits for the club himself. Three of these plays, Murder at the Banquet, The Smartest Woman in the Kingdom, and A Midsummer Night's Midterm, are published by Pioneer Drama Service.
Rob went on to earn an MFA in Creative Writing at Florida International University. After a long tenure at Westminster Christian School in Miami, he returned to Texas, where he now chairs the high school English department at Fort Bend Christian Academy in Sugar Land. When he's not teaching AP English, he enjoys watching classic movies and playing board games with his sons. Rob is also the author of Setting Screens, a full-length play which was a finalist in the 2007 Florida Playwrights' Festival, and The Shark's Hightops, a screenplay.
