Zoe Bell Hurst
Zoe Bell Buess Hurst also worked as a theatre professional since her graduation from WSU where she met her future husband, J.R. She worked at many theatres in Wichita as a props designer, stage manager and all-around “techie”. She has also written fiction, non-fiction magazine articles, plays and poetry. She made and sold bead jewelry for several years under the name Tabby Moon Jewelry. She died very suddenly on March 7th 2005, just three days past her 44th birthday and one day after the first cast read-through of Putting the Pieces Together, a drama based on real-life stories of people facing care-giving to chronically and terminally ill parents and children. She and J. R. wrote the piece on commission from Kansas Health Ethics, a non-profit educational organization.
