Author Profile: Marian Blair Hollingsworth
Marian later combined her writing with her love of cooking in a monthly gourmet newsletter called Good Taste. She was able to use her experience as a six-time Pillsbury Bake-Off contestant to come up with the recipes she featured in the newsletter.
Her news and cooking backgrounds were also valuable when Marian became a columnist for The Daily Californian with articles on parenting and restaurant reviews during the early 1990's.
Marian first experience as a playwright came when she co-authored Sherlock Homes And The Legacy Of Blood. After that, Marian worked solo to create Johnny Brooke: A Ghost Story. That play, featuring a teenaged ghost, won the Shubert Fendrich Memorial Playwriting Contest for Pioneer Drama Service in 1999. Another play, Harrison's Tornado written in 1998, deals with high school students who are trapped in their drama room when a tornado hits their school.
Marian has been married to Edward Hollingsworth, a high school drama teacher and actor, since 1984. They live in La Mesa, California with their four theatre-loving children: Trevor, Blair, Devon and Morgan.
