Author Profile:  Arne Christiansen

Arne Christiansen has wide experience with young musicians.  He was musical director for Up With People during American tours and served as the musical director/conductor for the San Diego Junior Theater as well as vocal coach for the Lawrence Welk Resort Theater.  Arne has also served as conductor of the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.  He conducts honor bands and orchestra and tours widely throughout the west with his own school bands and orchestras.  He has taught theory, instrumental and vocal music at the elementary and secondary school levels.

As a music teacher at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, Arne is responsible for preparation of the orchestra and conducting two major productions a year.  Some of the 30+ school productions include Into The Woods, How To Succeed..., Fiddler On The Roof, Sweeney Todd, Crazy For You, Sophisticated Ladies, Li'l Abner, The Wiz and Pippin.  In 1985 Arne was selected as Teacher of the Year for San Diego where he presently lives.
