Author Profile:  Eric Rockwell

Eric Rockwell is proud to have had his songs performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the White House.  He has created several musicals with Joanne Bogart, including the hit off-Broadway show, The Musical of Musicals (the musical!), which garnered five Drama Desk Award nominations in 2004, including outstanding music and lyrics.  After running for two years in NYC, the show went on to have success on London's West End.

Mr. Rockwell is an alumnus of the BMI-Lehman Engle Musical Theatre Workshop, where he developed the score to A Little Princess with lyricist Margaret Rose.  The critically acclaimed musical, which premiered at Sacramento Theatre Company in 2013, is based on the beloved novel by Francis Hodgson Burnett.  In 2017, Rockwell & Rose were honored with a Legacy Award for the world premiere of their musical Meet Your Mountain, which tells the harrowing story of the Donner Party.

For the Tada!  Youth Theater in NYC, Eric created Up to You, a musical for young performers described as "Mean Girls meets High School Musical."  In addition to winning an Innovative Theatre Award nomination, the show was honored with the National Youth Theatre Award for Best New Musical.  The New York Times described the musical as “wry, witty, and ultimately courageous.”
