Gary Peterson (Email me!)

Gary Peterson

Gary Peterson is the author or co-author of over 25 published plays and musicals, including Little Women, The Importance of Being Earnest, Charley's Aunt, and Mayfair Lady.  He has also collaborated on A Little Christmas Spirit, with David A.  Byrne, and The Brementown Musicians, with songwriter Larry Nestor.  All of these plays are published by Pioneer Drama Service.

Peterson is a retired, Emmy-winning video editor for Disney/ABC in Chicago.  He has worked on numerous television productions including the Oprah Winfrey Show and local and network news and sports programs.  In 1984, Peterson received a national Emmy Award for his video editing work at the Los Angeles Summer Olympics.

Peterson first got involved in theatre during college, where he acted in the University of Illinois' production of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, among others.  This prompted him to join some community — and later professional — theatre groups, where he produced, directed, and/or acted in several productions in and around the Chicago area and in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Peterson's acting credits include 1776, The Star-Spangled Girl, and Charley's Aunt; while as a producer/director he has been at the helm for productions of Godspell, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Exit the Body.

The talented writer's avocations include astronomy, music, movies, and the popular card game Magic:  the Gathering.

Gary Peterson lives in a Chicago suburb with his wife, Gabrielle.

For more about Peterson, visit his website.  He welcomes E-Mail from friends, relatives, those involved in his productions, and from anybody who'd just like to say "Hi!"
