Author Profile:  Janie Downey Maxwell

Janie Downey Maxwell lives and writes in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.  She started teaching and writing for children's theater to give her two daughters the opportunity to enjoy stage craft in a town that was much more focused on athletic endeavors!  Janie acts, sings, costumes, props, and directs in several community theater groups in the Portland, Maine area.  She is the author of a historical fiction novel, Gunny Malone, and is currently working on a new musical about a dragon in a well.  If you are performing The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring in New England, or in the Washington DC area, she asks that you drop her a line.  She’d love to try and attend your show!
