Dr. Hotchner’s plays have been published by Pioneer Drama Service, Dramatic Publishing, and Heuer Publishing. Stephen Hotchner’s adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula at Pioneer Drama is one of the most popular versions for the stage and his participation plays are part of the children’s curriculum in the University of Arizona’s Theatre Department.
Dr. Hotchner has directed and produced plays by William Shakespeare, Friedrich Dürrenmatt, and William Gibson. A member of Actors’ Equity, his acting career has encompassed more than 85 roles. He was part of the Arizona Shakespeare Company from 2013 to 2015. He co-founded A Company of Players, one of Colorado’s most successful theaters for children. His most recent play, Divine Madness, was co-written with Dyan Cavalli, a longtime collaborator.
