Paul Collette graduated from El Segundo High School, El Camino College and the University of California State College at Long Beach with a BA in Speech/Communications/ Drama and a minor in Creative Writing. He was a high school and middle school Drama, Speech and English teacher in Southern California for 30 years. Additionally, in the 1980's he directed high school and community musicals and in the mid-1990's he coached a championship girls' softball team.
He has written many plays and musicals. Most are published with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc. and Meriwether Publishing Contemporary Drama Service. The most noteworthy play he has penned is the family one-act musical entitled Toy Camp for which he received the 1995 "Shubert Fendrich Memorial National Playwriting Award." He has recently published his first two novels, Zoey Cummings and the Box of Time and Zoey Cummings and the Relics of Bergen-Belsen with Trafford Publishing. The young adult novels both won the "Mary Ann Pfenninger National Literary Award" in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
Currently, he lives with his wife and son in Redondo Beach in Southern California where he writes and lectures full-time. He also enjoys sports, especially baseball and is a big fan of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
