Author Profile:  Darby Chism

Darby Wills Chism is a playwright, multi-media collage artist and educator.  A graduate of Marietta High School, she continued her education at Kennesaw State University where she earned a BA in English Literature with a minor in art.  She has worked as a Preschool teacher, Kindergarten Paraprofessional, Drama and Art Enrichment instructor and an Art Specialist with Cobb County Cultural Affairs Department.  She currently resides in her hometown with her husband David and her two children, Rebecca and Wyatt.

Mrs. Chism contends, “My children and my students have been the source of my greatest artistic and literary inspirations.  My daughter fell in love with theatre when she was six.  As time passed and her involvement with the dramatic arts increased, it became apparent that there was a real need for contemporary, content appropriate scripts for children and families.  I’ve tried to create scripts that fill that need and that can be enjoyed and appreciated by audiences of all ages and that convey a timeless, universal humor.”
