Author Profile: Rachel Bublitz
Rachel Bublitz is an award winning and internationally produced playwright. Her full-length Ripped had its world premiere with Z Space earlier this year, directed by Lisa Steindler, as well as a Utah premiere with Good Company Theatre. Her play Burst has been developed with Salt Lake Acting Company, Keegan Theatre, REACH at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Theatre 33, and the Ground & Field Theatre Festival. The Egyptian YouTheatre has commissioned three plays from Rachel; Cheerleaders VS. Aliens, produced in 2018, which Rachel is thrilled to have published with Pioneer Drama Service, The Night Witches, which had its world premiere at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival to an entirely sold out run, and The Summer I Howled, scheduled for an October 2020 premiere. She was also commissioned by Plan B Theatre to write a one-act for second to fourth graders. That play, Presenting: Super Cat & Reptile Robot in the Tremendous Tickle Trouble, will have an elementary school tour during the 2020/21 school year. Other plays include The Elves, Much Ado About Mathletes, and The Red House Monster.
