When that master of deceit, Evil Eye Egbert, shows up in the dying town of Loveland, his craftiness takes a lovesick turn. He decides this romantically named locale is the ideal place to operate a matchmaking scheme. Passing himself off as "Mr. Cupid," he promises to forward letters to prospective mates... for a small fee, of course! Naturally, this slimy scoundrel writes the return letters himself, and always encloses a photograph of a handsome man — the town sheriff, Zip Code. Poor Zip has his own troubles. His girl, Val Ann Tyne, who runs the Sweetheart Hotel, may go out of business and have to leave Loveland forever! When Val discovers she's inherited some valuable property, the notorious Mel Fraud materializes with a scam that even Evil Eye can appreciate. All seems lost until the desert rat, Jerry Atric, reveals his true identity and helps the sheriff nab the villains. True love triumphs again as our villain becomes nothing but junk male!
