Michelle Van Loon, author of The Selfish Giant, is a freelance writer with a wide variety of published work to her credit including several other plays, numerous skits, two creative nonfiction books about the parables of Jesus, magazine articles, curriculum and children's stories.  "My first love is playwriting," she says.  "No matter what I write, it always has the heartbeat of a script."  She lives with her family near Chicago, home of the best pizza in the world.
