Nathan Hartswick was raised in northeastern Vermont, where his family owned and operated the highly reputable Vermont Children’s Theater, a nonprofit organization dedicated to involving young people in the performing arts. As a child, he had roles in the organization’s annual summer musicals. Later, he was solicited to write plays, teach theatre workshops, arrange music, coach acting, and direct performances at VCT.
Nathan studied music and English in upstate New York and subsequently spent five years in the New York City area working as a writer and educator. He has taught private music lessons, jazz improvisation classes, drama workshops and camp programs to children from ages 8-18. Nathan engages children of all ages with youthful energy and humor, a passion for the subject and commitment to a rewarding learning experience. Nathan resides in Burlington, Vermont and works full-time as a marketing writer.
